(PRVegas) A survey released Monday by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority showed visitors spent less on gambling and more on food, shopping, shows and entertainment in 2011 than in years past.
- The number of visitors who came to Las Vegas primarily to gamble dropped from 13 percent in 2009 to 7 percent in 2011.
- Only 77 percent of Las Vegas visitors gambled while visiting in 2011, compared with 84 percent in 2007.
- The average gambling budget declined from $556 in 2007 to $448 in 2011.
- People are also spending less on their hotel rooms. The average lodging cost was $109 per night in 2007, but $84 in 2011.
